It’s been a few years since he’s really excited me, but I always await a new Kevin Smith film with interest. This time around the director is taking on a police buddy flick called Cop Out.

It’s an interesting choice for the man who brought us such cult hits as Clerks and Mallrats. One of the most surprising things is that for the first time the movie isn’t based on a Smith screenplay. At least he won’t get blamed if it bombs as badly as Jersey Girl!

This trailer featuring stars Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan doesn’t really tickle my funny bone, but I’ll reserve judgment until I see a bit more.
