Not a fan of Tyler Perry or of Mariah Carey’s acting, however, movies don’t win Sundance awards for nothing. Either this is going to be really good or really cheesy.

Either way, Oprah has been plugging this movie like crazy on her show, so expect this to be a strong opener this weekend.

Don’t get me wrong, I like a good drama movie as much as anyone. And the novel “Push” by Saphire was a story that needed to be told for sure. There are just too many teen girls that are getting pregnant a dropping out of school these days.

Due to the many star-studded appearances (Lenny Kravitz, Mo’Nique, etc), I’m still a bit weary of watching this because of Mariah Carey. We all know how horrible Glitter was.
