This video shows the first official trailer for Dark Shadows, a new movie starring Johnny Depp as a centuries-old vampire freed in the 1970s. It looks… interesting.

Lo and behold who has directed Johnny Depp’s new film? Yes, it’s none other than Tim Burton. Wait, who is that mysterious woman also in the film? Yes, it’s Helena Bonham-Carter. Who’d have thought it.

Despite the complete and utter predictability of those three being involved together again, the film itself looks anything but predictable. There is horror, comedy, and a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. A heady mix for sure.

I’ll have to go and see Dark Shadows as the trailer has intrigued me enough. It may end up being a load of old toss but I doubt it. I like Burton’s style – excepting Planet Of The Apes – so this should fit the bill nicely.
