Being the youngest child in my family meant I never had to deal with the tricky phase of being replaced by a younger sibling. Which must be a nightmare. Instead, I was the younger sibling and got bullied as a result!

Parents will always try to make it OK, by telling the older child that they are still loved just as much as they ever were; it’s just that mummy and daddy have so much love to give they needed a new recipient for that affection.

Which is clearly hogwash. Maybe this video will stop parents trying to get away with such bunkum. It shows a woman bringing a new man in to her life and explaining the situation to her husband, exactly as if he were a first-born child.

This is one of those perfect YouTube videos that is humorous yet contains an important message we can all learn from. It’s not laugh out loud funny but I bet it’s made you think, especially if you’re a parent.
