While the world focuses on the impact of the storm on New Orleans, some people forget that New Orleans isn’t the only city that will be severely impacted.

“Streets are flooded in Franklin, Louisiana, west of New Orleans as Hurricane Gustav continues to move across the state. A million homes have lost power, but the hurricane delivered only a glancing blow to New Orleans.”

Watching this video, it’s hard to imagine anything like this could be defined as ‘glancing’, but it certainly makes me grateful that it hasn’t turned much, much worse for the residents of this area.
