American Idol is back! You know what that means: a whole lot of “memorable” auditions before we get into the serious business.

Some auditions are memorable because they show the promise of the stars of the future. And others we remember because the personalities are just a little unhinged. Renaldo Lapuz falls into the latter category.

He makes quite an entrance in his white feathery hat emblazoned with Simon Cowell’s name and his long silver cape. And strangely enough, he delivers a performance that matches his crazy get up.

His original song We’re Brothers Forever was a little repetitive, but it was also pretty catchy! I’ve never seen the judges embrace a loony like this before. He’s not right for the Idol competition, but I think this boy could have a future at Eurovision!
