If you happened to catch Snoop Dogg’s new “Dogg After Dark” talk-show the other night on MTV, you might have caught the “rap battle” between the west coast rap king and Paris Hilton.
The freestyles consisted of nothing but compliments and sexual language; and the last time I checked that counted as flirting not rapping. Although, you have to hand it to Paris for remembering to rhyme.
I’m ashamed to admit it now, but I did actually manage to see this entire episode the other night. Unfortunately, rather than interesting interviews and funny skits like the one’s seen in Snoop’s previous MTV show, I was rather let down with moments like this one.
Instead of the promised late night talk-show format, all “Dogg After Dark” really turned out to be was a giant party held by Snoop Dogg with celebrity cameos. Perhaps the most annoying aspect of the show was the constant chatter in the background from the crowd that made it hard to hear anyone speaking.
Nice try Snoop, but I think I’ll stick to Letterman and Leno for now.
