Google has celebrated the life of Saul Bass with a Google Doodle paying tribute to the style he brought to the opening credits of movies.

Using Unsquare Dance by Dave Brubeck as the music underpinning the visuals, Google has combined Bass’ iconic graphic design into one short video.

Saul Bass was a graphic designer of astounding repute. He worked both in Hollywood and in corporate advertising, producing work for Martin Scorsese, Stanley Kubrick, Warners, and AT&T, amongst others.

Bass died in 1996 at the age of 75. The Google Doodle has been produced to commemorate what would have been his 93rd birthday. And it’s spectacularly well made.
