Aside from the great performances, one of the most memorable moments of the 2009 MTV VMA Awards was the highly assholish interruption made by Kanye West during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video.
Whether this was staged or not like the Eminem and Bruno incident remains to be determined, but what we can determine is that Kanye, no matter what he says, is still a pompous jerk.
Why Mr. West keeps doing such stupid things on stage is still a mystery. Has he not learned anything from his previous freak-outs? Perhaps this incident was just a stunt to put on a show, however, it looks pretty real to me. Taylor looks genuinely shocked.
Kanye just lost another fan- this one.
