After recently reading about how evolution cannot be legally taught in classrooms, it comes as not a total shock that a teacher or professor would be fired from her post if she didn’t stay neutral on creationism.

Especially coming out of Dubya’s state, right? But, if we can teach one, but not the other, who is the true hypocrite here?

One is science, and the other is theory, and although I am admittedly slanted one way, I do believe that they should both be discussed in the classroom. After all, classrooms were designed to teach students about the world, past, present and future, and to allow them to form their own opinions based on the “facts” that are available.

Yet, sheltering and one-sidedness still finds its way into the classroom. Must it be one or the other?
