Oscar the featherless bird may well be the ugliest bird in the world, but it’s not the poor thing’s thought, as he/she suffers from a rare virus.

As the woman who looks after her tells us, the virus causes scar to get so irritated by her own feathers she pulls them out, which obviously leaves her slightly bald.

I feel sorry for Oscar, as being a cockatoo, it would have a wonderful set of feathers were it not for the virus. Unfortunately, Oscar just ends up looking like an oven-ready chicken.

I’m just glad that there is a place for Oscar, and she wasn’t just ignored and left to fend for herself in the wild. I can imagine the other birds in the neighbourhood would bully her quite badly.
