If the opening premier wasn’t enough of a clue on how hyped up this show has become then have a look at the ratings! The season started off with flying colors as it raked in 13.4 million viewers. It scored a 4.7 rating with range for adults 18-49, easily stealing the gaze of t.v. watchers the world over.
Just with it’s first night’s taste, it won over the viewers of Dancing With the Stars, the Followers, and even American Idol. There’s no big mystery as to why now that the show has recruited Grammy winning musicians Shakira and Usher to fill in for Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green. I have to admit, their opening act made everyone forget about the original hosts altogether.
And by the way, is it just me, or is there some kind of coincidence going on with both female hosts being blonde and Hispanic and Cee Lo Green’s replacement being black as well? Either way, they’re won my vote of approval. Shakira can play me harmonica any day.
And props to Usher for having broken out the old electric guitar. To be honest, I didn’t even know he could play!
