Levni Yilmaz has become an internet sensation with his clever cartoon series Tales of Mere Existence. In this one he waxes lyrical about youth and aging.

Levni speaks of the energy and enthusiasm of youth, and the way this vigor gives way to resentment and longing as we grow gray. It’s not particularly amusing or uplifting. In fact, in some parts it’s downright depressing. But there’s something so compelling about this simple clip.

I’ll take this simplistic hand-drawn animation over the glossy computer-generated cartoons any day. This vid might not exactly put a spring in your step, but it will make you stop and think about your own life.
