You know a show is successful these days by what sort of presence it has online. A dedicated YouTube channel is one of these online presences and it’s what Top Gear now has.
Top Gear Rocks
Top Gear is probably my favourite show on television these days. Yes, more than Lost, Heroes, and even Doctor Who. And what’s strange is that I’m not even in to cars – I can’t even drive.
But it doesn’t matter, as the mixture of great presenters, fast cars, worldwide travel challenges, and celebrity guests is enough to keep me glued to the TV every week.
Top Gear On YouTube
Now I can be glued to the PC monitor and watch the show online as BBC Worldwide has created a YouTube channel dedicated to the motoring show.
Simon Danker, director of Digital Media for BBC Worldwide, told Web User:
“Top Gear has a massive audience across the globe so we thought it was time it had its own place on YouTube. The BBC Worldwide YouTube channel has already proven its value to users, having generated millions of views since its launch in March last year.”
“We’re now expanding our portfolio of YouTube channels to reflect the massive online popularity of certain programme brands and to give fans of shows like Top Gear a dedicated destination on YouTube.”
Clips & More
The channel features clips from the show, including car reviews and celebrity interviews, as well as clips from the presenters other shows such as Jeremy Clarkson’s MotorWorld and Richard Hammond Meets Evel Knievel.
So now not only can Top Gear fans see the show on traditional television and on the BBC iPlayer, they can also see their favourite clips time and again on YouTube. A good day for any Clarkson, Hammond, or May fans.
