Tom DeLay, the former House Majority Leader, was sentenced to three years in prison ‘conspiracy in a money-laundering scheme during the 2002 election cycle’.
The Republican Congressman was also sentenced to five years in prison for money laundering charges but the judge converted the sentence to ten years probation.
This sentence comes after a jury convicted him in November.
“I can’t be remorseful for something I don’t think I did,” DeLay said.
Pfffft is all I can say to that. I highly doubt that a man like that could be so utterly obtuse as to not understand he was a part of something like money laundering.
