ABBA week was always going to challenge many of this year’s Australian Idol contestants. But Wes Carr made it look easy with this amazing version of “Fernando.”

I really wasn’t sure how this could work. How does a rock star manage to pull off a love song to a sexy Spanish man with his cred intact? Just like this.

Wes is a consummate pro, so it’s always a joy to see him perform. But because he’s so good, it’s been easy for him to coast through the competition. Seeing what he can do when he’s forced out of his comfort zone makes me realize just how good he is.
