Whitney Houston was/is a diva who still has a great many fans, despite not recording or performing live much in recent years. This video shows her singing I Look To You on Good Morning America on September 1, 2009.
It’s no secret why Houston has been off the scene for a few years: she’s had drug problems and husband problems. She’s rumored to have become addicted to various substances, including crack, and she divorced hubby Bobby Brown in 2006.
But now she’s back, and this shows her giving a mini concert for Good Morning America. She sang four songs, of which this is one of them. Most praised her ability to come back and sing to a crowd, although a lot of people have bemoaned the quality of her voice, especially on this song.
Is Whitney Houston capable of making a full comeback? Probably, because she’s still a damn fine singer underneath it all. And even better for her is the fact that fans want her back; they haven’t turned their back on her.
