We’ve all been bombarded with religious advertising from time to time, and with the holidays ahead these messages are only picking up steam. Now a group of atheists are getting their own back with their own brand of public marketing.
The group Freedom from Religion has come under fire for its billboards which praise Darwin and encourage us to imagine a world without religion. While many of the Christian right have attacked the messages, others argue that it’s simply free speech.
I definitely fall into the latter camp. While these messages are against religion, they never stoop to attacking it. They’re really quite tasteful. If religious groups can have their say, why not everybody else?
