Juan Mann had come home to Sydney on a flight from London and was wishing someone was there to greet him. Hug him. Finding the biggest pedestrian intersection, he took his handmade sign with “Free Hugs” written on both sides and waited…
It took a while, but eventually someone came and hugged him. Someone who needed a hug above all else.
This Free Hug phenomena has since spread around the world, and you can see video proof of stuff on YouTube.
