Simon McCoy is either a bumbling idiot or a fantastic troll. This video shows him doing a live news report while holding a ream of paper rather than the iPad he was meant to be using.
The BBC has since claimed that McCoy made a simple mistake, and picked up the ream of photocopier paper that just happened to be sitting on the desk next to the iPad.
I don’t buy this. I think McCoy was trolling both his bosses and viewers, and knew exactly what he was doing.
Holding an iPad in this way is clearly pointless, as they never actually refer to them. As it’s just for show, I suspect McCoy decided to prove how pathetic the idea is by swapping his iPad for paper.
