The Internet is responsible for many things, from the ease of piracy to viral video. And it’s also brought A Capella groups back into fashion, mainly due to them covering modern songs.

And now A Capella has gone mainstream, with a new show on NBC which premiered last night. It’s called The Sing-Off and is a reality TV show where eight groups are competing a record contract and a $100,000 prize check.

This video isn’t actually from the show but it is a recording of the group which has emerged as the favorite – The Beelzebubs from Tufts University singing The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour.

The Sing-Off follows the American Idol model, is hosted by Nick Lachey, and has Shawn Stockman, Nicole Scherzinger, and Ben Folds as judges. It’s due to run until Dec. 21 when the winner will be announced.
