Coca-Cola delivered a brilliant commercial for Super Bowl XLVIII, with a cast of children singing America the Beautiful. It was simple, uplifting, and patriotic.
But wait. Apparently this ad wasn’t patriotic or good in any way. Because some of the kids sang the song in a language other than English!
Conservative pundits and racist idiots alike took to social networking sites to condemn this Coke commercial. They collectively suggested that everyone should speak English, Goddamit.
This is a bizarre reaction seeing as America is made up of immigrants from all over the world. Oh, and the native Americans didn’t speak English until they were forced to by the invaders.
