Botfly larvae are disgusting critters who like to live under human skin. The poor girl in this video became home for one of these repulsive bugs while holidaying in Belize.
When life deals you an unfortunate hand like this, there’s only one thing to do: make a video. And so she documents the efforts to extract the larva from her scalp.
When smoking the creature out doesn’t work, the foul larva is suffocated by tape. Of course, while that makes removing him easier, it’s still not smooth sailing.
I probably don’t need to tell you that this isn’t a video for the squeamish. The larva is a maggoty thing, and there’s an abundance of pus when it’s extracted. Yet this clip has a kind of car crash quality which prevents me from looking away!
