Erykah Badu has always been a bit “out there.” Take for example her latest video ‘Window Seat’ where she strips nude and walks along the exact same street where JFK was shot.
After she is “shot” she narrates the end of the video with the following quote, “They play it safe, and are quick to assassinate what they don’t understand.”
In regards to her many complaints Erykah tweeted, “Heard people yelling diff things @ me but i held my head up and kept moving.there were children there. i prayed they wouldn’t b traumatized…” The video is said to be a statement against “group think.”
In regards to the originality of the video, Erykah got the idea from new-wavers Matt and Kim who did a very similar stunt for their music video “Lessons Learned” you can check it out below. Personally, I prefer their version just because there seems to be more going on.
