This is the first official trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie, a reboot of the franchise brought up to date for a new generation.
Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are out, having been replaced by Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy. Having an all-female cast has caused controversy in certain quarters, but it really doesn’t matter.
The gender of the characters is meaningless. It neither ruins the original films or represents a monumental change in Hollywood. It’s just a movie with a cast of actors who just happen to be women.
I will take the new Ghostbusters completely at face value. If it’s good, then I’ll enjoy it and recommend it to others. And if it’s bad then I’ll say so.
