The idea is the contestants read out what’s on a card in front of them, and then have to field questions about that story. The ultimate goal being to figure out whether it’s true or a lie.
This video shows Bob Mortimer claiming that he cracks an egg in his bath because the singer Chris Rea told him to do so.
Without giving away any spoilers, Mortimer does a great job telling this story, and answering all of the many questions that get thrown his way.
