Naya Rivera, the former Glee Star, has called off her divorce from Ryan Dorsey. The 30-year-old actress filed a dismissal on her divorce papers nearly a year since she originally filed for divorce in November 2016.
E! News reports that “they want to make it work for the sake of their son.”
Dorsey and Rivera dated in the past before she became engaged to Big Sean in 2013. Big Sean called off his wedding with Rivera. Dorsey and Rivera reunited shortly after she broke up with the rapper. They would go on to get married in a secret ceremony just three months after they got back together.
The couple’s son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, was born in September 2015.
Sources told US Magazine that “Naya didn’t tell most of her friends that she was marrying Ryan Dorsey, let alone that she was dating him.” Sources stated that “the whole thing is a complete surprise.”
The couple’s divorce made headlines when the two released a joint statement saying “after much consideration, we have made the decision to end our marriage.” Rivera filed for divorce on November 15, 2016. She requested physical and legal custody of their son and requested that Dorsey have visitation rights. The reason for the divorce was “irreconcilable differences,” according to the court documents.
Rivera reported in April 2017 that she and her husband are “very good at co-parenting.” She has remained confident throughout the entire divorce filing that Josey has been the couple’s main priority. “Doing what’s best for Josey is really what it boils down to,” she states.
Rivera has dated since she filed for divorce. She was linked to David Spade for a brief time, but reports indicate that the couple split up in June. The two seemed to be a brief summer fling, with reports of the two dating when they were seen poolside together in Hawaii.
