Walmart’s Great Value ice cream sandwiches appear to be impenetrable to the sun. It turns out you can leave them outside on a hot day and they won’t melt. Ever. That’s impressive.
Perhaps impressive isn’t the correct word. In fact, this suggests Walmart’s Great Value ice cream sandwiches contain lots of artificial additives that make it less ice cream and more ice chemical.
Real ice cream, which contains cream, milk, sugar, and eggs will melt quickly. The reason this ice cream doesn’t melt is because of the stabilizers included to help it keep its shape.
Every ingredient in this budget brand of ice creams is entirely edible and completely legal. However, that doesn’t mean we should consume it in large quantities.
I think I’ll stick to the natural stuff.
