After legitimately making $240,000 on baseball cards, high school student Cole Bartiromo decided to get into the stock market to make money.
When he found out that he could easily control the price of penny stocks and trick people by message board posts- he got into more than he could handle.
“He has no empathy for his victims”? Give me a break. Sure, this kid did a horrible thing, but I can think of tons of my old classmates who would make similar choices given the same power and knowledge.
There need to be classes on greed and scam prevention- going after one kid isn’t going to change much.
