I expected by now to see people free running on every street corner and in every city center. But it isn’t the case, because most people realize that parkour requires a certain set of skills that most of us just don’t possess.
It was only a couple of years ago that parkour, or free running, crossed over into the mainstream. Once it did YouTube was awash with video clips of people demonstrating their skills.
However, I haven’t seen a new one for a while. I’m sure they’re still being regularly uploaded, but the initial burst of excitement over this relatively new sport that anyone can try has died down.
This video, which shows Waldi Muller from Germany demonstrating his considerable skills, had me engrossed once more. He isn’t the most elegant free runner I’ve ever seen, but the distances he jumps are mighty impressive.
