An argument that has raged for several years appear to be coming to a head. It all centers on the name of the Washington Redskins American football team.
Is this a racial slur against native Americans? And if so, should the team be forced to change their name?
As an outsider looking in I cannot believe it’s even taken this long to come to a head. “Redskins” is clearly a racial slur, and has been since it was coined many years ago.
Why wouldn’t you change it as this point. Knowing that it offends not only native Americans but those of us who are sensitive to racial epithets.
