Kevin Smith is a big baby. So when Hot Ones, the show where Sean Evans interviews celebrities while they eat hot chicken wings, declined on having him on the show, he threw his toys out of his pram.
Smith wanted to appear on Hot Ones immediately in order to promote Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Hot Ones didn’t have a gap in their schedule, so declined the request.
Smith’s response was to parody Hot Ones, copying the style of the show with him acting as host and Jay Mewes acting as guest. And it comes across as very bitter and childish.
According to Evans, Hot Ones would have been happy to have Kevin Smith on the show in 2020, but that wouldn’t have suited Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot promotional agenda, so he’s the douche here.
