Coca-Cola has come a long way since its creation in 1886. Although the present-day recipe is a closely guarded secret, there are records of the original recipe knocking about.
This video shows a couple of chefs making the original Coca-Cola to a 1886 recipe. And even obtaining the ingredients proved to be a challenge.
According to the chefs, the end result is a nice beverage, but not one that can compete with the modern-variation of Coke. Which is to be expected.
I would love to try this drink though, so I don’t know why Coca-Cola itself doesn’t release a classic version, albeit without the dodgiest ingredients.
