You may be aware of the new Star Trek movie being released this weekend. You definitely will be if, like me, you consider yourself a Trekkie. And this new J.J. Abrams-directed version even seems to be attracting the attention of normal people who haven’t liked Star Trek in the past.
But what do Trekkies who have seen the movie think of it? Do they like the new style? Do they like the way the CGI actually looks realistic this time around? What about having young, attractive people in the starring roles? The Onion News Network asks all these questions and more…
For the uninitiated, The Onion is a satirical news outlet which spoofs real news coverage. The UK may have done it first with The Day Today but the Americans have taken it to a whole new level with the ONN.
What’s funny is that there is an element of truth about this report. You just know there will be long-time Star Trek fans harking back to the old days, despite how brilliant the new movie may be.
