Paul McCartney Performs With Nirvana Video | Surviving Members Reform for 12.12.12 Gig

The surviving members of Nirvana reformed for the 12.12.12 concert to support the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Unfortunately they allowed Paul McCartney to steal their thunder.

Once Kurt Cobain killed himself I never thought I’d see Nirvana play live again. But it’s happened, with the surviving members — Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear — performing live at Madison Square Garden.

Paul McCartney took on the vocals, but he really isn’t a patch on Cobain. In fact, I’m rather sick of seeing and hearing the guy. Can’t he just hurry up and retire?

The song they performed was Cut Me Some Slack, and it was more akin to McCartney’s old-skool licks than anything Nirvana ever produced. Still, it’s good to see them back on stage together.
