Paul Ryan is a committed Republican and Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. And yet even he has turned his back on Donald Trump.
Like it or not, Trump could be the next President of the United States, and yet important people from his own party are refusing to back him.
Ryan has decided he will not defend Trump any more, the final straw being those lewd comments Trump made about women and his attitude towards them.
Instead, Ryan will spend the rest of the campaign looking to secure the Republican majority in Congress. Suffice to say, Trump is none too happy with this startling turn of events.
