James Avery, the classically trained actor many of us knew best as Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, has died at the age of 68.
Avery died from complications during heart surgery in California.
It’s a sad day when any of actors you grew up watching on TV dies, and Avery was one of those for many of us. He didn’t just appear on The Fresh Prince either, with appearances on CSI, That 70s Show, and L.A. Law amongst his other credits.
Avery is survived by his wife Barbara, mother Florence, and stepson Kevin. Rest In Peace, James Avery. You will be missed.
