Sad ‘Red State’ Protest Video | Westboro Baptist Church Pickets Sundance Film Festival

34 sec read

Kevin Smith’s new movie Red State premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last night. The actual screening got mixed reviews, but it was what happened outside that was arguably more interesting.

The Westboro Baptist Church and its cronies decided to picket the film and the festival because free speech is obviously a bad thing. At least it is when what is being said isn’t something you believe in.

I just wish the media wouldn’t give these idiots the time of day; take away the publicity and they would slink back to whatever hole they emerged from.

The only reason I’m posting this video is to support the other side, those brave souls who protested the protesters. And to support Kevin Smith, who is never afraid of tackling a difficult subject matter.

Even if Red State is crap, which I doubt it is, I’ll go and see it so that Smith and others like him keep on doing what they’re doing.
