The Bachelor is back, with Season 16 making its debut yesterday (Jan. 2, 2012). Judging by Facebook and Twitter many people, some of whom I formerly considered intelligent, tuned in.
The Bachelor isn’t a show I watch. What little I have seen of it suggests it’s the worst kind of reality TV, with vacuous idiots vying for attention in order to become celebrities.
The big problem here is there is no talent on display. These people only have one thing going for them, and that is they look good. Shouldn’t we have moved on from that by now?
The Bachelor will continue to make headlines and give people something to talk about. Meanwhile I’ll be doing something a little more productive with my time.
