“Watching the Mother Of Dragons stride imperiously through the flames was doubly satisfying as it followed a spell in which the show hadn’t seemed to know what to do with Daenerys.

“We’ve waited an eternity for her storyline to catch fire and tonight it did in a thrillingly literal sense.

“The scene also echoed her iconic emergence from Khal Drogo’s funeral pyre, protected by her dragon-blessed Targaryen blood.”
