If anyone is surprised that there is this feral, ugly side to reality television… what planet are you living on?
It boggles my mind that anyone can watch these shows – especially the ones about love and relationships – and think that what they are seeing on television is actual reality.
You could argue that it is a sort of reality. A constructed bubble of fiction that poses as real life to elicit by whatever means possible the actions and reactions that will get the most ratings.
It’s a wonder that not every single one of them walks off those shows without some mental and emotional damage.
