The 2013 Emmys threw up plenty of surprises, with unexpected winners having their names called out to go up on stage and collect their awards.
Most took the surprise news with gracious ease, and had clearly prepared for the result just in case. But Merritt Wever was clearly shocked and stunned at winning Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Nurse Jackie.
We know just how surprised she was to win the award by her acceptance speech. It was very short, and, depending on who you listen to, was either the best or worst Emmy winners speech of all time.
I say good on her. If every one of the winners just said thanks and disappeared on stage the show would be a lot more enjoyable.
