It seems rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated. Yoda is alive and well, and selling instant noodles in Japan.
This ad is pretty wacky, but I don’t think we’d expect anything else from Japanese advertisers. It features the Star Wars guru cooking up some noodles in a levitating pot before instructing us to boil Japan. That’s right, I said boil Japan.
I have no clue what the Japanese were on about here, or indeed what they were on when they made this ad. I’m not sure it effectively sells noodles, but who cares? Like so much of this country’s pop culture, it’s loads of fun.
