A professional sportsman has to stick to a very specific diet to stay fit and healthy, and to stay in trim enough to be able to perform come game day.
But what if you get hungry during a game and need something to snack on? A health bar would be good, or maybe a drink of some isotonic sports drink. Or how about a hot dog smothered in mustard such as the one Mark Sanchez devoured during a game on Sunday?
Being British, I think of American football, or just football depending on your point of view, as a bit of a game for sissys. Why all the padding and helmets? You don’t get any of that in rugby.
However, this video shows why the helmet and padding is necessary, because when you get an elbow in the face from a big guy running at full pelt, it’s the only thing that’ll stop you from being paralyzed.
It’s a well-known fact where I live, Georgia Bulldog fans sound a lot like soldiers in the movie 300. And, as a Georgia resident I’m not really surprised by the insanity that comes out of this young man’s mouth in this pre-game “interview.”

Since 2004, those using pay-per-view to watch the Superbowl have been treated to a halftime show featuring women in scantily-clad clothing playing with each other (so to speak). Now it’s being turned into a league.
John Madden, the man not the video game, has retired from broadcasting after being sat behind a microphone taking about the game he loves for 30 years. Now 73-years-old, Madden’s style will be much-missed and much-copied.
You’ll have to excuse the quality (these clips are a few years old), but I assure you the punching through walls and diving through car doors displayed by these NFL players make up for the fuzziness.
Players included are Chris Cooley, Jason Campbell, Marques Colston, Marc Bulger, Chris Chambers, Mason Crosby, and Laurence Maroney.

If you happened to be a both a Comcast Cable customer and a resident of Tucson, Arizona, chances are this above X-rated clip (although uncensored) was flashed on your TV set in the middle of the Super Bowl.
For Christ’s sake! Can we just have one Super Bowl without indecent exposure?
The Super Bowl always has a spectacular halftime show although some years are clearly better than others. Super Bowl 2009 had Bruce Springsteen, The Boss, providing the entertainment with a medley of hits, and he didn’t disappoint.
Jennifer Hudson went through quite a lot in 2008. Last October, just a month after her self-titled album went gold, 3 of her family members were murdered. After such a tragic loss most weren’t expecting her to jump back into acting or even singing for a long while.
Judging by this performance, 2009 looks to be a better one for the former American Idol contestant.
