Katerina Emmons may be making her appearance at the Olympic games, but she will be making her first appearance there under the Emmons name. She met her husband, American Matt Emmons, at the Athens games and they hit it off right away.

They were later married in 2007, splitting their time between their home countries. Because of this, she remembers Athens not for her disappointing 27th place finish but for the wonderful meeting.

Now number four in the world, Emmons has an excellent chance of winning a medal at the games. She will be competing in two events – the 10m air rifle and the 50m rifle 3 position.
