In this 1999 German McDonald’s ad, a fisherman comes up with a plan to keep his wife from getting mad when he goes fishing.
The clip starts out with the angry wife dropping off her husband to go fishing. With his McDonald’s lunch in hand, he sits on the pier. But as soon as he puts his lunch down, something happens to it- something with a really big mouth if the bite taken out of the pier is any indication.
On his next fishing trip, his wife goes with him. The thoughtful fellow treats her to a McDonald’s lunch. The commercial ends there, but you can imagine what he has in mind.
This reminded me why I’m so fond of foreign commercials. They’re so clever, and they often shock you and make you laugh at the same time.
