Elwood has a face only a mother could love. This Chinese Crested cross Chihuahua took out the dubious honor of Ugliest Dog of 2007 at the recent Marin-Sonoma County Fair.
And it’s not hard to see why. While Elwood’s competitors were no beauty queens, this dog is truly hideous. He drools incessantly, and it seems his tongue hangs permanently from the other side of his mouth. And that’s to say nothing of his mohawk or bug eyes.
While I think Elwood’s breeder was probably a bit harsh to want to euthanize the little guy, I can’t see why owner Karen Quigley believes her pooch is the “cutest thing that ever lived.”
I guess the old saying must be true. Love must really be blind.
