With all those damn gum commercials, I forget that Shaun White is actually still a really good snowboarder. Never in the history of The X Games has a snowboarder received a 100- a perfect score!

Here’s the clip of the amazing run. Some say that the judging is biased due to White’s fame, but you can’t deny that it’s worthy of a gold medal.

White pulled out of Slopestyle due to an ankle injury. It proved to be a good decision in the long run because his performance during the X Games was incredible. His first run was a 94, and he did this run while still in 1st place.

STRIDE is going to sell the hell out of that flavor today.

Ooh, that really isn’t good. The last place you want to end up is croc-infested waters, especially when you have a bungee cord tied around your legs. I see a lawsuit a-coming.

Langworthy is surely going to sue. But I’m guessing she will have had to sign some kind of waiver before she jumped, and that could protect the company involved if it did ever get to court.

The problem with all extreme sports, including bungee jumping, is the slight risk of something going wrong. If there wasn’t that risk then they wouldn’t exactly be extreme sports.

This hasn’t put me off the idea of bungee jumping, and it’s something I’d still love to do. But if I ever do one I’ll know there’s a very small chance it could be the last thing I ever do. Then again the same can be said for crossing the road.

I’m so glad someone else filmed this because I would never be able to. I’d love to have a go on the actual alpine coaster, but I would need to use the brake and have both my hands free for holding on. And a spare pair of underpants, too.

I like rollercoasters, as long as they’re not too fast or too scary – yes, I’m a bit of a wuss – but this looks like a different prospect altogether. Personally it looks more fun.

This is a single-pipe alpine coaster in Mieders, Austria, and the reason these things are unlikely to catch on around the world is the obvious need for a bloody great mountain to slide down the side of. And in the U.S., home of the lawsuit, the fear someone will sue.

I may have to visit Mieders in Austria now purely to take a ride on this alpine coaster. I’ve never heard of the place before and never really had a desire to go to Austria, but this has to make the trip worthwhile, doesn’t it?

I’ve still yet to participate in parkour, because I’m too lardy, too lazy, and too scared I’ll break my neck. In other words I think I’ll leave it to the professionals.

The world went through a phase several years ago of being completely obsessed with freerunning, or parkour as I prefer to call it. But that obsession has now ended.

However, there are still hundreds of brilliant freerunning videos being uploaded to YouTube and other online video websites every week, and just occasionally one sparks my interest.

These demonstrations of the sport aren’t all that spectacular – I’ve seen longer, higher, and more daring jumps – but they’re sublime. This is parkour as an art from more than an extreme sport. Which is the way it should be.

Another day, another contender for this year’s Darwin Awards. The thing is not to worry about these people getting hurt, even seriously. They are, after all, merely removing themselves from the gene pool.

As soon as a video such as this one begins you know it isn’t going to end well. You can even predict when the ‘Oh Shit’ moment is going to happen; usually about 5 seconds before the end of the clip.

This video is a case in point. This looks fun, I admit. Who wouldn’t want to be dragged by a car on the end of a rope while sitting in an office chair, especially when the bottom of the office chair starts sparking as it scorches the tarmac.

But wait, watch out for that kerb!!! Ah, too late. I guess that guy didn’t mind the risk of breaking his neck or he wouldn’t have agreed to taking part in the first place. Rest in peace, my man, rest in peace.

Sean Kingston is in hospital in a critical condition following a serious watercraft crash in Miami, Florida. Kingston is best known for his 2007 hit Beautiful Girls.

Immediate apologies for the video; it’s nothing more than a guy reacting and then passing on the news that Sean Kingston is critically injured in hospital. But it’s the best I could find.

I must admit I’m not a fan of Sean Kingston’s music, but I wouldn’t wish what he’s currently going through on my worst enemy. And Sean Kingston is far from that.

Instead, he is a 21-year-old singer who needs us all to hope or pray for him, depending on your beliefs. I wish him and the female passenger all the best in getting better.

Yves Rossy, better known as Jetman for reasons that will soon become clear, recently made an 8-minute flight down the length of the Grand Canyon. Rather him than me.

Rossy uses a custom-designed jetpack which essentially enables him to fly. After being dropped out of a helicopter hovering 8,000 feet above the ground, Jetman managed to reach speeds of 190-miles-an-hour.

This is Rossy’s first flight in the U.S., but he has previously soared across the sky in various other countries, even ditching into the sea off the coast of Morocco.

This is awesome to watch, but it’s not something I’d like to try for myself. Call me a pussy if you want, but I don’t care. I value having my feet firmly on the ground to much to try and fly like an eagle.

A real-life Death Race takes place in Vermont each year, with competitors taking on a series of physical and mental challenges all wrapped up in a 24-hour endurance battle to the finish.

Or you can admit defeat and give up. Or die.

This is no Hollywood movie showing supposed tough guys like Jason Statham and Tyrese Gibson competing in a motorsport where only the winner survives. This is the real shit, where real hard men challenge themselves and each other.

I think it’s fair to say the Vermont Death Race isn’t for everyone; very few people should even consider entering. Ex forces or security personnel, maybe intelligence operatives, those kind of people.

I’m too fat and too unfit to be a part of it. Hell, it tired me out just watching this video.

A man has sadly died after being fired from a human cannonball at a show in Kent, England. What killed him was the safety net designed to catch him failing.

Many people may have learned about the human cannonball after one was featured on a recent episode of Glee. Coach Sylvester wanted to shoot Brittany from one to close her cheerleading show. And then this happens.

The fact is that even everyday life contains numerous dangers. When we cross a road, drive, cook food, pour a kettle of boiling water, in the workplace; all of these normal events have dangers attached.

But being fired from a cannonball and landing on a thin net a few hundred meters away is obviously a lot more dangerous, regardless of the health and safety measures put in place to ensure no one is harmed.

OK, so it’s closed off at the time, but still. I can’t work out if this is an awesome show of bravado or just some douchebag demonstrating that he needs attention. It’s probably a combination of the two.

Extreme ironing isn’t all that new a concept, having become an extreme sport (of sorts) a few years ago. There are examples of people ironing on top of mountains, in the sea, and in other awkward or usually-inaccessible places.

However, this is the first time I’ve seen extreme ironing done on a motorway. One side of the M1 motorway is currently shut, which is a good job because otherwise this guy would have been run over pretty damn quickly.

This guy must be an attention-seeking whoremonger, but I don’t mind giving him a little of the publicity he so obviously desires as it’s funny to see someone in their pajamas doing the ironing in such a setting.

Well here’s something you don’t see every day. Bill Murray opened up the 50th Chicago Air and Water Show by jumping out of a plane, and cameras were there to capture it all.

The video captures Bill and his nerves on the ground, and then follows him on the long journey 13500 feet above the city. As it turns out though, Bill doesn’t mind a bit of skydiving. He has a big smile on his face as he floats above the Windy City.

Honestly I thought this video was a bit of an anti-climax. Where was the footage of him arriving back on terra firma, and gushing about how the experience changed his life? We all know every good sky diving video needs that!

This video contains some of the coolest tricks and most extreme stunts I’ve ever seen online. In short it reminds us that humans are incredibly awesome.

Some of these moments are clearly the results of intense training, while others are simply wacky party tricks. While they are diverse, they’re all likely to impress you, and leave you wondering how on earth the participants did what they did!

Unlike so many similar montages, this is made up of plenty of bits I haven’t seen before. It’s great to see a video that don’t simply recycle what’s out there, but gives us something new to gawk at!

Bungee is one thing, sledging is another. They’re both relatively safe to do, assuming there is a professional on hand. But combine the two and put a bunch of giggling youngsters in charge and, well, it’s scary shit.

Snow can be very, very fun, especially when you’re young and the novelty factor hasn’t yet worn off. And you can get away with sledging without being stared at like you’re some kind of infantile freak. Or a pedo.

However, I’ve never heard of, let alone seen, anyone sledging off the top of a tower block roof. But that’s exactly what’s on display in this video.

It looks as though there’s about six feet of bungee cord attached to a length of rope, and that’s deemed enough for these kids to throw themselves off the slope while sitting in a sledge.

Absolutely insane. Or am I just getting old?

The German man in this video may not be able to speak English very well, but he sure as hell knows to have some extreme fun.

It’s one thing to ride the front of a crazy rollercoaster, but actually doing it on skates with no seats is insane!

Dirk Auer is an extreme skater, but even he claims that this is his “most dangerous” stunt. After 2 months of preparation and 110 hours that it took to build the custom skates, Dirk finally did it.

Even if he never skates again, he’ll still go down in history as one of the craziest skaters ever. Is it just me or does this guy deserve his own Redbull commercial?

This is a truly epic fail that could have ended up being very nasty. Luckily, the only part of the guy that was damaged in the accident was his pride.

Here is some advice for all young parents:

1. Don’t attempt to skateboard indoors. 2. Don’t try and teach your daughter how to skateboard when you can’t do it yourself. 3. Don’t start to laugh when you’ve smashed up some furniture and both your wife and daughter are worried about you.

This is a classic YouTube video because it has it all. The set-up with the daughter handing over the reins to her dad, the timing, the build-up to the actual event, and then the reaction afterwards.

We’ve all seen parkour videos before. There are tons on YouTube as people try to make a name for themselves and show their skills off to a wider audience.

This video is no exception, but it wraps the whole thing up as a game played after attending the gym. And it’s brilliant.

The problem with many parkour videos is that they show people randomly jumping about between buildings with no overall concept. And they can get rather boring as there are only so many different stunts involved.

The great thing about this video is that it actually has a plot. There are also some inventive stunts and some inventive uses of the environment. The music also rocks, and the twist ending is genius.

Maybe I’m easily pleased but this is one of the best parkour videos I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen many.

If parkour isn’t already exciting enough, why not add some ladders to it to form pomparkour, an even more amazing and dangerous sport.

Parkour appeals to me greatly. Here’s a sport which requires no equipment other than the buildings and architecture all around. And which looks absolutely amazing to watch.

It’s also a sport which requires a hell of a lot of skill and athleticism, at least at the highest level. But it can also be tried by anyone.

This video shows pomparkour, which is parkour with ladders added to the mix. And it looks downright scary and dangerous both for those taking part and the people on the ground. I think I’ll leave this one to the experts.

Motocross rider Paris Rosen had a nasty incident at X Games 16 on Friday night. He tried and failed to pull off a front flip during the best trick competition, and ended up in hospital.

Watching live must have been bad enough, but watching the replay on repeat endlessly really shows the bone-crunching reality of what happened.

Rosen just never seemed to get the flip started, rolling forward far too slowly to complete the maneuver before the ground came up to meet him. He landed on his back, which from that height is bad news.

Let’s hope Paris is OK. Initial news from the hospital suggests he’ll be relatively fine. We all make mistakes in different facets of our lives, but when you’re taking part in an extreme sport the consequences are worse than normal.

Alongside toothache, a knock to a man’s testicles has to be the worst pain possible barring the obvious: childbirth, injury, and illness.

The fact is that this video will literally make men everywhere ooh, aah, and avert and their eyes rather than watch this young lad experience the pain that’s almost a rite of passage on the way to becoming a man.

Skateboarding down this steep hill in the luge position was clearly not a good idea. But we’ve all done things as kids that we look back on with a mixture of regret and awe.

This kid might have a bigger reason to remember this incident when he gets told he can’t father children because his balls don’t work any more. Unless, of course, he’s young enough that they’re safely tucked up inside when he slams into the lamppost.

This video isn’t big, isn’t clever, and really doesn’t need a lot of explanation. But we’ll carry on despite these facts.

I advise men everywhere to avoid watching this. Seriously. Just step away from the Play button and go and do something else. What do you mean, it can’t be that bad? It can, and it is.

Essentially, this video shows a man crushing his testicles into the back of a bench while trying parkour. Women can watch this without any need to look away or wince, but men will cry and instinctively reach for their balls at the moment of impact.

This video is a good reason not to try parkour unless you’re super-fit, flexible, and are willing to take the odd excruciatingly painful moment. Which is why I stay at home watching DVDs and drinking beer instead.
