This video shows street artist David Choe painting the walls of the first Facebook headquarters in 2005. Facebook founder founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg even has a go with the spray can himself.

Why is this video interesting? And why now? Because Choe is about to become a millionaire thanks to these murals. When Facebook IPO’s in the near-future Choe will find himself sitting on an absolute fortune.

Choe eschewed being paid in cash for this job, choosing instead to take stock options. Zuckerberg was rather generous, giving Choe 3.77 million shares in the company. At $53-per-share that’s a cool $200 million.

This makes the artwork Choe completed on the walls of the Facebook offices some of the most expensive in the world. Certainly in terms of how much was paid at the time it was commissioned.

That’s one lucky guy… and I’m in the wrong job.

After President Obama suggested that “The Buffet Rule” should be in place for wealthy Americans, Bill Gates was interviewed on BBC concerning this issue.

What he had to say about the topic of raising taxes is something the 99% would like to hear.

When one of the world’s richest people has no problem with giving away more money via taxes, it makes you wonder why the laws aren’t reflecting that attitude. It’s a fact that Gates gives nearly $1 Billion in charity contributions every year.

And just like Buffet, Gates plans to give away a giant chunk of his wealth back- 90% when he dies. Suck on that Steve Jobs!

On 60 Minutes, former lobbyist and now convicted man Jack Abramoff talks about the system of corruption in today’s US politics and how he did what he did.

Spending over a million dollars a year just on booking tickets for congressmen and senators, Abramoff certainly had his hands full in the pleasure business.

With systems like this and huge corporations people feel powerful against, is it any wonder that occupy protests and end of the world prophecies are running rampant?

When she said, “I’m mad at you” I couldn’t help but feel the same.

I can’t figure out if this is a man who wants to shed some light on the situations or a man who is just bragging.

If you haven’t heard by now that Steve Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple then where have you been? It was the biggest news of the week, certainly in the world of technology and business.

Steve Jobs has left the job he’s been in for the last 14 years, handing the reins of the richest company in the world over to former COO Tim Cook. He now has big shoes to fill. The biggest, in fact.

The reasons behind Jobs’ decision aren’t all that much a mystery. He has had health problems for years, including recovering from pancreatic cancer and having a liver transplant. And he clearly feels unable to fulfill his duties any longer.

Like everyone else, I wish Jobs well. I’m not a fan of Apple because of the cultish fanboys that live their lives by what the company says and does. But Jobs is an icon that will be missed by all.

This video shows Kazuo Hirai announcing the return of PSN. Yes folks, PSN is back online. Well, kinda.

Hirai is the President of Sony Computer Entertainment as well as being a high-up in the Sony corporation as a whole. The company has definitely brought out the big guns as it attempts to regain the trust of its customers.

What won’t have helped is that the PSN went down again almost immediately after it came up. The problem this time is too many people trying to get online and change their passwords at once.

Did Sony not realize everyone would be super-keen to get back online to see what the state of things were after almost a month offline? Obviously not. Fingers crossed the May 31 date for everything to be back up and running is stuck to.

As an aside, doesn’t Hirai look a little like a Bond villain? All he needs now is to be stroking a cat on his lap.

When I heard that the owner of Segway had died from driving his Segway off of a cliff I couldn’t help but laugh. It had to be another internet rumor, right?

Actually, the body of millionaire Jimi Heselden was found in a river near his estate yesterday.

Crashing with a Segway seems laughable, so I can understand why many people are quick to suspect some foul play. Afterall, the man was worth $250 million and ranked as one of the top 500 richest people in the Sunday Times.

Just to clear up the rumors, a spokesman came out to address the media and commented, “At this time we do not believe the death to be suspicious.”

The CEO of computer company Hewlett-Packard, Mark Hurd, has resigned from his position after an investigation into sexual harassment uncovered violations of the company’s Standards of Business Conduct.

Though cleared of the sexual harassment allegations, Hurd was found to have had a relationship with the former HP contractor involved. He had then filed multiple expense claims intended to hide the relationship.

Hurd became HP CEO in 2005, taking over from Carly Fiorina. He is considered to have done a great job in turning around the business and taking it onto greater heights, so this will be seen as a major loss for the company.

HP CFO Cathie Lesjak is taking over on a temporary basis until a new permanent CEO can be found and appointed.

Another blow to the US economy and employment comes in the form of Wells Fargo Financial closing the doors on hundreds of offices – and thousands of jobs.

“We know that this decision will be extremely difficult for those dedicated team members and their families who will be affected.” – Wells Fargo Financial president David Kvamme

Hm. And yet somehow I don’t think you will be very affected by it, will you Mr. Kvamme.

Call me suspicious of ‘the man’, but this is just another action in a long list of actions that could have probably been avoided with some sensible thought put into business.

Manufacturer of popular electronics like iPhones and Wiis, Foxcomm, is increasing worker wages from $5 a day to $10 a day in an effort to stop the suicide rate amongst its workers.

According to the video description, “Employees spend almost all of their lives in Foxconn’s massive ‘campus’ – which is a charming euphemism for a large, all inclusive, Orwellian complex that includes factories, dormitories, shops and markets.

Apple company stock owners are cheering today as Apple earnings soar beyond expectation – largely due to an even bigger iPhone trend than they anticipated.

I almost hate to see Apple do so well on the market just because they are often so hoity toity about their products and how good they are.

Is the iPhone impressive? Yes. Would I rather have something else? Definitely.

But, as usual, Apple depends on becoming a trend and using that popularity. And this time, it would appear that they have won in that department.

I think I’ll stick to what I have. I don’t need all those time-wasting apps, thanks.

Trump has been going through rough times lately. Many of his casino’s are bankrupt and he’s failed to pay over $40 million in loans. Yet, he still manages to have time to sign over his name to corrupt developers for quick bucks.

As far as I’m concerned, taking in $32 million dollars and not building anything is fraud. Though, it should be noted that this type of corruption isn’t exclusive to Mexico. As a resident of Atlanta, unfortunately our city’s promised Trump Towers have suffered the same fate as well.

Even though there’s little hope, my heart goes out to all the 70+ investors that are suing.

Your 2009 may be off to a rough start, but I guarantee you it isn’t as bad as Marcus Schrenker’s. Recently his wife filed for divorce, he lost a half-million-dollar judgment, his house was searched for possible security violations, and we know know that he also had another $1.4 million approaching lawsuit.

So when the finance expert/licensed pilot reported that he was having plane trouble and was headed for a crash, the authorities were quick to suspect.

After setting his plane on auto pilot and jumping out of the plane with a parachute, he approached a police officer (who found Marcus wet from the knees down) and said that he had been an a canoeing accident. The police man, unaware of the plane crash, then checked him into a local hotel.

By the time all the facts were sorted out and the police finally went to retrieve Marcus from his room, he had disappeared. According to the police, Marcus was last seen fleeing into the woods in the back of the hotel.

Something tells me the man has been watching too many movies.

From their TV, to their animals, to their people, it appears that Japan is indeed entirely unique from America. Take this Japanese Airline CEO, for example; when he found out his company was struggling, he decided to cut his own pay.

CEOs of US Airlines may be making $200,000,000 annually, but this Japanese one is making less than $90,000!

Since the US economy is in a recession, you’d think that American companies would be doing their best to help their employees. But in fact, the majority of them simply lay off more workers and never feel a dent in their wallet.

If the role of a CEO is to do whatever it takes to keep the company a float, then I’m pretty sure this Japanese CEO is doing a hell of a job. The best part is, he doesn’t make a big deal about it- he even laughs at the idea of not doing so!

And we wonder why billion dollar bailouts are an American thing.

Today is Black Friday, at least in America. The day after Thanksgiving when retailers expect you to do your duty and spend oodles of your hard-earned cash on items you don’t actually need.

This video shows a Best Buy store opening its doors at 5am on the morning of Black Friday 2006. As you can see, there aren’t exactly a lack of people waiting to grab a bargain.

The thing is, as good as the price reductions may be, I don’t think I could stand battling hordes of rampaging crowds such as this in order to save myself $100. Is it actually worth the hassle?

With the worldwide recession now in full swing, this year’s Black Friday is probably more important to retailers than any before, but I can see most people staying at home. Which should at least prevent dangerous crowd surges such as this.

The Credit Crunch has hit, and leading economists paint a grim picture for the future with some even going as far to say it will be as bad as the 10 year Great Depression of the 1930s.

Unemployment has already risen quickly in the past few weeks in both the U.S and much of Europe and people are increasingly fighting for scarce jobs.

After losing their jobs, many people are choosing to work from home as freelancers through websites like oDesk, a California based company that connects employers and freelancers in the virtual world.

oDesk derives from No Desk, and encapsulates the founders vision that in this Internet age, anyone can work anywhere and at anytime.

The global job marketplace explained in the video allows businesses around the world to hire qualified workers for projects, no matter if they’re located on the other side of the globe.

The hiring company can then keep an eye on their new global workforce by way of automatic desktop screenshots, mouse clicks, and keyboard activity.

With this sort of technology in place, I can foresee a time when more people will work from home than in an office. The only problem then would be that we’d never see each other, apart from via webcam.

If it’s not already bad enough having Gordon Brown in charge of the country, we’ve now had to listen to him blithely announce he’s giving away £500 billion of taxpayers money to the banks.

I thought the US bailout was sickening, but now it’s happened in my own country, I’m even more incensed. Why the hell should you and I pay for private banks to stay in business?

If I owned a small business and then got in trouble, could I hold my hand out to the Government? I could, but they’d tell me where to shove it, and rightly so. But banks are getting given the money supposedly for the good of the country.

The biggest question I have is: Where the hell is this money coming from? Why wasn’t that obviously spare $1 trillion spent on hospitals, schools, care homes for the elderly, or even tax cuts for us all?

It’s a good thing you only bet a penny, Mr. Laffer.

You’d better believe it now, Laffer. Welcome to the technology age when anything you say or do can come back to bite your behind.

I can’t help but wonder, looking back on how sure Laffer was that we were doing well, if he was hired just to be the guy to convince everyone that things are okay.

Because he couldn’t have truly been that confident, could he?

Peter Schiff makes a very interesting statement that we should actually embrace this recession, and he was saying this 2 years before the recession actually started.

“Rather than the recession being resisted, It should be embraced – the disease is all this debt financed consumption.”

He also states that the recession will likely last years rather than months.

I think it says something that Peter Schiff keeps his cool very well despite being attacked on both sides. I love that last comment Peter makes. Listen for it.

There is currently a huge financial crisis hitting every country in the world, and it’s been coming for a couple of years, with many people warning it was on its way.

The US financial market and government seemed to bury their heads in the sand until it was almost too late and are only now trying to rescue the economy.
